Prior to the incorporation of the Hong Kong Dietitians Association, the dietetic profession was mainly represented by the trade union currently known as the Hong Kong Practising Dietitians Union (HKPDU), which is now responsible for labor relations.
In 2001, HKDA was established to enforce professional continuing education and development of accreditation system for dietitians. It is a non-profit organization with more than 300 members to date.
Our members are qualified dietitians who have completed a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics recognized overseas or locally.
In order to maintain and enhance professional competency, all members must acquire enough Continuing Dietetic Education points to become a Full Member of HKDA. A member list is provided online by HKDA to assist the public on choosing qualified professionals for nutrition therapy.
