Membership categories

Members can be classified into:
  • Ordinary Members / Full Members
  • Associate Members 
  • Student Members
  • Retiree Members

Ordinary Members

Any person in Hong Kong who possesses one or more of the following current valid professional qualification.

  1. A person who is a Registered Dietitian of the Health & Care Professions Council of the United Kingdom; or
  2. A person who is a Registered Dietitian of the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the United States of America; or
  3. A person who owns a Provincial Dietetic Registration in Canada; or
  4. A person who is an Accredited Practising Dietitian of the Dietitians Association of Australia.  


Full Members

Full Member of Hong Kong Dietitians Association who maintains the Ordinary Membership for at least 9 months AND fulfills the requirements for the Continuing Dietetic Education of the Association

Associate Members

Graduate of recognised dietetic internship programme but not qualified for ordinary membership of the Association


Student Members

Students who are undergoing dietetic training at recognized institutions in Hong Kong

Retiree Members

Previous full members of the Association who have retired from the profession


 Membership Fee

Our membership cycle runs annually, starting from 1 April to 31 March. For new successful applicants who apply between 1 Feb and 31 March, the membership will be effective from 1 April.

Once you become a HKDA member, you only need to pay subscription fee annually when you renew your membership. To apply as new member, please go to application procedure.
